Would you fly across the planet for a crush? Ever had a “if we’re not married by 30, let’s get married” pact? What do you do when your ex takes all the sex toys? For the answers to these and more, come to this show. It’s about those kinds of things. Terrible teenage romance, no-boundaries twenties, and queer coming-of-age. You like that, don’t you? Oh and jokes about podcast bros. That’s cool, right? Do you like me now?
IS THIS WHAT YOU WANTED?
This is, believe it or not, part of happeningfish’s doctoral artistic work on emotional labour, affective labour, and transgender stand-up comedy, exploring the relationships between laughter as activism, the limits of allyship, self-deprecation and survival, and what we can understand about each other. But let’s be clear: it’s a stand-up show with a lot of embarrassing and dirty jokes.
For over ten years happeningfish been making stand-up comedy, running shows like Punch Up! Resistance and Glitter, The Attic Underground, Feminist Comedy Night, and is part of the queer comedy crew Qoomikot.
